Henan Government Scholarship – Partial Scholarship

The Henan Government Scholarship is a provincial scholarship established by the Government of Henan Province to support provincial universities in recruiting outstanding international students and scholars for degree programs and non-degree programs within Henan province.

2. Scholarship Coverage

The scholarship will cover tuition fees, including the internship fee. If the scholarship does not cover the entire tuition fee, applicants are required to pay the remaining amount. Otherwise, the scholarship will be automatically canceled.

3. Instruction Language

The language of instruction for applicants enrolled in undergraduate, postgraduate, and non-degree programs is Chinese, although some programs may be instructed in English. (Please check the university website or contact the university’s international admissions department for more details.)

5. When to Apply

Applications are accepted from the end of January to the end of April.

6. Eligibility

Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens, healthy, and without any criminal records. They must also abide by Chinese laws, regulations, and university regulations. Additionally, applicants must have a good attitude toward learning and have achieved good academic performance in their previous studies.

7. Application Documents

Applicants must submit authentic application documents, including:

  • Henan Government Scholarship Application Form (filled in Chinese or English)
  • Certified certificate or notarized copy of highest diploma
  • Original transcripts of previous study
  • Study plan or research proposal (for certain programs)
  • Recommendation letters (for certain programs)
  • Language proficiency test reports
  • Physical Examination Record for Foreigner and Blood Test Report

8. Application Processing

  • Application Received: Applicants shall follow the scholarship criteria and apply to the university. The university will process the application according to the admission and scholarship criteria. If the applicant meets the scholarship eligibility requirements and the application materials are complete, the university shall issue the pre-admission notice.
  • Application Review: Experts on the provincial education department will conduct a comprehensive review of the scholarship students and make the final decision.
  • Approval and Notification: The results will be announced by the provincial education department before May 31st. Successful applicants will receive the admission notice, visa application form, and other materials through International Express before July 10th.

9. Visa Application

Scholarship students must apply for a student visa at the Chinese embassy in their countries with the required documents.

10. Registration

Scholarship students must register at the university before the specified date appointed by the university with the necessary documents. Failure to register on time may result in the student losing their scholarship.

11. Physical Examination & Residence Permit

Within 24 hours of arrival, scholarship students must record their accommodation and report to the local police station. They must also undergo a health examination and apply for a residence permit within 30 days of arrival.

12. Changing & Extend Major, Transfer

Scholarship students cannot change, extend, or transfer majors without approval from the Provincial Education Department.

13. Scholarship Annual Review

The provincial education department will conduct an annual review of scholarship students to determine their qualifications for the coming year’s scholarship.
