The Organisation of Southern Cooperation (OSC), in collaboration with the International Cooperation Group of Brazilian Universities (GCUB), is excited to announce the availability of 400 postgraduate scholarships for students from OSC Member States. This initiative underscores the OSC’s commitment to enhancing international academic mobility and promoting South-South cooperation, breaking down barriers, and fostering cultural understanding through education.
Eligible students are invited to apply for a wide range of Master’s and Doctoral programs at prestigious Brazilian universities. This scholarship opportunity provides access to world-class education and equips individuals with the tools to become transformative agents in their communities.
Scholarship Benefits
• Tuition Coverage: Selected candidates will receive full exemption from enrollment fees, tuition, and other academic fees.
• Monthly Stipends: Universities will provide monthly scholarships to cover living expenses.
• Additional Support: For OSC Founding and Member State students, up to USD 1,500 will be provided for airfare, visa processing, international medical insurance, and other personal expenses.
• Access to Resources: Scholarship recipients will have access to university classes, libraries, laboratories, and various student services.

Eligibility Criteria
• Nationality: Applicants must be from OSC Member States, which include a diverse range of countries across Latin America, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the Pacific Islands.
• Health Requirements: Candidates must be in good physical and mental health.
• Residency: Must be a national of an OSC Member State or a country with diplomatic relations with Brazil. Brazilian nationals are not eligible.
Special Consideration: 100 scholarships are reserved for applicants from emergencies, highlighting our commitment to supporting those in need.
Application Process
1. Online Application: Complete and submit the application online by 1 July 2024.
2. Documentation Required:
• National ID.
• Academic transcripts and diplomas.
• Curriculum Vitae.
• Two essays per selected course:
• An essay outlining academic expectations and career plans (up to 1000 words).
• A research proposal for the intended Master’s or Doctoral program (up to 4000 words).
3. Selection Process:
• Applications will undergo an initial screening for completeness.
• The chosen universities will evaluate shortlisted candidates.
• Final selections will be based on a point system, and successful candidates will be notified by 25 September 2024.
Responsibilities of Selected Candidates
• Contract: Sign a scholarship acceptance agreement.
• Visa: Obtain a student visa for Brazil.
• Insurance: Purchase international medical insurance.
• Compliance: Adhere to Brazilian immigration and university regulations.
• Language Proficiency: Demonstrate intermediate proficiency in Portuguese before thesis or dissertation defense.
• Return Requirement: Return to the country of origin upon completion of the study program.
